Viva Palestina faced with 2,000 riot police in the port of Al-Arish!

To all friends of Palestine

Our situation is now at a crisis point! Riot has broken out in the port of Al- Arish.

This late afternoon we were negotiating with a senior official from Cairo who left negotiations some two hours ago and did not return. Our negotiations with the official was regarding taking our aid vehicles into Gaza.

He left two hours ago and did not come back. Egyptian authorities called over 2,000 riot police who then moved towards our camp at the port.

We have now blocked the entrance to the port and we are now faced with riot police and water cannons and are determined to defend our vehicles and aid.

The Egyptian authorities have by their stubbornness and hostility towards the convoy, brought us to a crisis point.

We are now calling upon all friends of palestine to mount protests in person where possible, but by any means available to Egyptian representatives, consulates and Embassy’s and demand that the convoy are allowed a safe passage into Gaza tomorrow!

  1. Kevin Ovendens ways are wrong, they are simpley disgruntled Socialists who have tagged onto Gaza as a lifeline for the troubled respect party of which George Galloway, Rob Hoveman and Nick are founding members of.

I prefer Abu Suffiyah’s ways, the man makes prayer, reads quran and reflects on what the companions at the time of the prophet did. Peaceful dialogue backed with sound Islamic knowledge is the solution to softening the Egyptians hearts, the socialists will only cause trouble and make a lot of noise for their personal benefit, remember Abu Suffiyah and the other convoyers are not salaried, Kevin Ovenden is paid to talk , and that he can, he will return to his highly paid job in George Galloways office.

Abu Suffiyah, whether you reach Gaza or not is irrelevant, please look after yourself and do not expose yourself to any risk, all actions are judged by intention, and Inshallah your intentions are good and you shall be rewarded. I pray you are rewarded in this life and the hereafter, your simple but meaningful words inspire me and I hope I can have knowledge like yours which I can realte and reflect in everyday situations.

  2. salamu alaikum convoy
We can only pray fo you from here in the UK, we have passed a message onto the BBC, may be this may help insha Allah!
